Well I might be able to next week. Interview Monday & Wednesday for £24K and £26K.

Good luck! In your current situation you have done everything possible to negotiate an increase in salary which has not happened, despite all your contributions. They need you more than you need them.

Hopefully you get one of the positions, hand in your notice, don't look back and crack open a beer/equivalent drink :D

If you can get to Knutsford, Manchester is a relatively short train ride.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    Hi,

Yes I can. Just a hour and half commute. Chester, Manchester, Stockport, Birmingham - all fine for me. Problem is their commute times. I will relocate if I'm offered a position; but it's just about taking time off to attend often two interviews (1st stage / 2nd stage).

Flew through today's telephone interview. His comment was:

"Normally people write things on their CV, and when it comes to the telephone interview, they don't really understand what they've written. I'd like to see you". So he's getting HR to schedule a face-to-face.

So two face-to-face interviews this week hopefully.

Well clearly they don't think so!
  • Why dont you just start your own company again, if you are directly responsible for their success wouldt this be the obvious thing to do instead of just being a wage slave for somebody else and never being fully paid for your contribution to the company.

I am a similar age to you, and being young is the perfect time to start your own business before you get the responsibilities of having a family etc.

So many people get stuck being a wage slave never bothering to make the most of their potential, it would be a shame to look back 20 years from now wishing you had done something better.

If you get this job, wait a month after leaving and then email the company stating that if they wish to hire you as a company to work X amount of hours a week (I would suggest 10) to maintain their systems then it would be X (A premium above your new jobs hourly rate)

Then, if they do really need you they will snap your hand of to keep on a stable grounding for a period of time, obviously they might hire someone else eventually but it could be a good bit of money extra.

Just make sure there are no compete clauses or issues with your new employer.

Problem I guess is money issues. My girlfriend's going through College/Uni so her income is minimal. I'm running a household on £17K + some sidework I do for clients.

I would love to setup my business properly, but I don't have the funds yet. I may do in the future, but I need to establish myself first. I'm only 23 and lived a "spend money" life up until 21-22. I'm just kicking myself into gear now to build a future. Passed my test a year ago, bought a fairly decent car.. paying £2k/yr insurance because it's a 2-litre...

So perhaps a few years from now I'll have disposable income that I can throw at a new business and use it to acquire offices etc.
