    I've heard of a banking feature that stops charges for minor transgressions such as these.

    I believe it's called an 'overdraft facility'. ;)

    Not on a childs account, but they will let them go overdrawn and potentially charge them. :mad:

    Basic accounts do bit allow an overdraft facility, but most probabaly have a small buffer

    So, lets keep it serious then...

    assuming the OP's husband is an adult, and it's not a basic bank account, how about setting up an overdraft facility?

    That's not a bad idea, I don't know why there isn't one. I'm with Nat West and they gave me one automatically. His is a Lloyds Classic a/c. Thanks for pointing that out, we will look into it.

    thats assuming that all "adults" have full accounts - there are more basic accounts than there are current accounts
