    Yes it's been widely discussed that the 2GB tethering limit only applies to 24month contracts that come with a phone. Sim only '1 plan' still give unlimited tethering with Three, currently anyway.

    I may be a lone voice crying in the wilderness here, but can you actually get Three 3G at the property?

  • I went in store and they checked my postcode and said I have good coverage (the flat is in Central London). Ill wait till I move in this weekend before getting the SIM just to make sure.

    I hope so-the postcode checkers are not 100% reliable, especially in city centres; all it takes is one big building between you and the mast. You can get a free 3-123 SIM online and test with that before you committ.

    Take Macman's advice and get a 123 sim card to see what speeds you can get, it's better to lose a fiver to find out than to tie yourself into an expensive contract.
    The Three network where I live is very iffy, even for voice calls, data is uselessly slow, even worse than my landline.
    Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
