Advice for appeal and 28 day limit to pay

Hi, I have recently received a PCN through the post for parking longer than the 4 hour free limit at a car park on a retail park. The twist is that I actually work for one of the retailers so the system is supposed to waive the time limit. I only spent a couple of days at this branch and the staff added me to an online exemption list on the first day, as is normal practice for staff. I called the parking company to explain the error but they were totally dismissive and, after being transferred to most of the phones in the office, they suggested that I emailed explaining the circumstances. I did this and received an automated reply saying that they will reply within 28 days. The PCN states that the fine must be paid within 28 days, which means that in theory it could expire before they reply to my email. Where do I stand if this happens? Incidentally the PCN had no company header or even contact details to query the fine, I had to find them out separately.

Your not going to pay them anyway. So no point in worrying about payment timeframes.

You owe them nothing so appeal. And get your POPLA code check back here before sending that off.

 Welcome to the parking forum board.

Please do start at square one and don't pass 'go' until you've read the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!' thread at the top, which you may have seen already but which gives you your first appeal wording (doesn't matter about the circumstances). It also tells you about the acronyms like 'no GPEOL':

We have 100% record of wins at POPLA stage, for over a year now. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE ISSUES YOU THINK IT IS - NOWT TO DO WITH YOU BEING ON A WHITE LIST.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
