SKY internet problems

Been with o2 for 5 years and always used to get speeds of 8-9 mbps and sky promised the same before agreeing to a 12 months contract (well they said speeds are going to be between 5-12 mbps but as i already get the 8-9 i may get the same was told)
now 45 days down the line since sky tookover, i hardly get speeds between 3.5-5.2 mbps max.....i am a software professional myself and understand all hte pfaff about peak time speeds etc..but max speeds stays at 5.2 in the middle of the night or be in the afternoon or any part of the day or night.
asked for options and i was told i could upgrade to sky fibre and was told that i could get it at half price for 12 months at £10 and then becomes £20 a month.....
as i am already into a contract nearly two months i was told bb contract would be a brand new contract for 18 moths.....meaning 10 months into bb contract i would be out of contract on my landline(i dont have a tv).....I WAS ALSO TOLD IF ACCEPT FIBRE NOW AND AFTER I AM OUT OF CONTRACT ON LANDLINE I COULD RENEGOTIATE THE DEAL....
is it true?
is it possible to renogotiate a deal after landline contract expires? have anyone done this with sky before? if so what deals have they got, really appreciate if someone can share their experience...
sorry for the long post and thanks for your time.

Sky BB is not traffic managed so I wouldn't expect speeds to vary night or day.
If you were happy with 8-9mb on O2, you should really try to find out why you're not getting that with Sky first of all.
Post you line stats so we can see if anything looks wrong. Did you keep your router on at all times during the first 10/14 days?0 -
OP: :Post your router line statistics. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The router was never turned off s they increased the shores for first 14 days. Did a lot of troubleshooting but to no avail.
is it true that I can renegotiate the contract after 12 months? Basic in mind that I would still be in contact for fibre?0 -
just called sky and asked for my MAC code....and a result...
I was offered a free line rental for 12 months and fibre optic broadband at £10 a month for 12 months and then goes to £20 a month for next six months (unfortunately fibre is 18 months contract) PLUS a £75 credit applied to my account.
I am really chuffed with it....works out around £15 a month (for both landline and broadband) over 18 months....
now hopefully the fibre speeds are anywhere near what they quoted between 30-38mbps.....actually if i get 8-10mbps i will be happy....0
