Big Dog vs. Small Dog
Comments

I would say it is firmly the owner of the small dog's fault. The large dog was protecting itself and it's owner from aggression. The little on "invaded" it's personal space. It's like the old sometimes someone needs to be burnt to learn to keep away from fire....Big dog just protecting himself.
Was big dog in danger? No.
Imagine what it must have been like for that small dog's owner, yes they were daft to let if off the lead when they couldn't recall it reliably, but to see an animal you love at the mercy and in the teeth of a much bigger, more powerful animal that's easily capable of killing it? Is it any wonder they were hysterical?
If your dog can't be trusted not to bite/attack/'pick up' other dogs even if they are off the lead, then your dog should be muzzled until its better trained.0 -
Also just to clarify The little dog wasn't hurt, my dog just picked it up and then let go then it ran off happy as Larry.
Also to reassure the touchy owners of small dogs , I'm not saying all small dogs are yappy I'm saying this small dog was yappy.
I have a small dog as well, but I believe many owners of small dogs think it's ok that they run around out of control because they think it can't hurt any one or anything"talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

My dog lives with a pug, probably the most pathetic of all dogs and probably couldn't defend itself against anything.... Lol. the husky has never attacked him or any other dog. Some small dog owners thing they can just let there dogs run free because they think there harmless"talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

Lol I am not a touchy small dog owner to start with. My post did say that the owner of the dog which was off lead was at fault. My point is, big, small, yappy, quiet, three legged, tail-less. They are all dogs, and like most of the cretures on this planet we all come in different shapes and sizes, so why is it small dogs get the "small yappy dog" label?
You have a large fierce looking dog, which I bet is as soft as a brush? But to me its just a dog, I dont say oooo look a large fierce dog or a small yappy dog, I just see a "DOG"
If a dog is well trained, and has owners that make sure their dog is under control what has size got to do with anything. xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Just the same as some lager dog owners think they can let their dogs run free. Lol , i dont cal them small dog owners, I call them silly people that should know better than to let a dog of any size off lead whilst walking in a public place. xRIP TJ. Still not remotely acceptable.
What are you going to do to prevent your dog picking up other dogs in future? You can't count on every other owner being perfect, you have to be just as prepared for the ones that aren't.0 -
Oh, and I am a touchy small dog owner. It irritates me no end that people make assumptions about me and my lovely natured fantastic dogs based on nothing more than their height, its ignorance plain and simple. What's worse is that other supposed 'dog people' are the biggest culprits!

I think this has escalated a bit... lol. The general conclusion seems to be the other owner should have kept the dog in control. There is very little anyone can do to stop another dog running out of control upto and jumping on their dog, and very little anyone can do to stop their dog from reacting when this happens."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0

Spot on lol. You can of course have a small water pistol in your pocket to zap said dogs. This gives you enough time to scarper before other dog realises you have outfoxed it xxRIP TJ.
