Hi Bod1467,
I.e. The driver will have to pay up now? There's no method for challenging the ticket?
Sugar thats me £162 down as it was me convincing the driver not to pay upThank you Umkoomas!! Gonna get onto it now. I shall update the thread as I go along.
That's better - but just get this cancelled by McDonalds Manager like all the people in the 'Successful Complaints about PPCs' sticky thread did. It's one of the sticky thread links near the top of the forum that you've not noticed yet! Please just spend a little time reading those sticky info threads stuck at the top of the forum - read all the links to MET cases cancelled by local McD's Managers - they do this every day. DO NOT complain to McDonalds nationally as they can't be arsed to help.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yay, excellent result wossup99, proves the power of the customer complaint. And you go into CM's 'Hall of Fame', so not a bad day's work.
Glad to have been able to helpPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Just wish I had come on this forum first rather than all the others telling me to ignore. I think I might join forces with you guys and preach the Gospel on other forums.
PS. Anyway, what makes you guys so dedicated to advising others on here?0 -

Well done you!!! Just shows what a bit of time and effort in reading the forums and following advice can achieve!
Why are the regulars so dedicated? A wish to see the law upheld and to assist ordinary people to hold their own against organisations which bend/flout the law and/or provide misinformation in order to achieve their own ends (which are often not legally justifiable). You'll find similar dedicated people posting on the Employment and Redundancy boards, the disability board and the benefits board (probably on other boards too, but those are the only boards I have knowledge of).
Basically they are motivated by a sense of fair play and justice. Good job there are people out there who still hold those values!!!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

I also help on pepipoo with Council PCN appeals, almost all of which are won in the end. I just find this area of law interesting and detest the scam of PPC World. I have ignored 4 fake PCNs over the years and have helped 3 friends so far to win at POPLA or get the PCN cancelled...as well as helping a few thousand more on here!PRIVATE 'PCN'? Have you had confirmation from MET that the PCN is cancelled, or just from McD's?0

Hi Bod1476 - Just from McDonald's, but I think that should be good enough.
Coupon-Mad, LazyDaisy, Umkoomas, Bod et al - Seriously you guys are doing an awesome job - keep it up. You're saving people their hard earned cash - £100 fine after spending a few bob at McD's is beyond ridiculous. No doubt there are people out there who abuse the system but there are some genuine ppl who are getting scammed.
There is a programme on telly at the moment which you guys will enjoy. I'm not sure what its called but its about traffic wardens, parking fines, challenges to the arbitrator etc. I think its on the BBC. I'll check and let you guys know.
Once, again thanks ALL0 -
I got involved on this forum after getting ticketed by a company who now don't exist, I got the advice from Coupon Mad to ignore the scam, because back in 2008 that was the correct advice. I stuck around and started giving advice to people because I could see that it was really unfair being ticketed for shopping.
Now 6 years later I'm still here, though on my second username as I asked mse to close my last one because of a parking company. Now why are we so dedicated to the fight? Well Daisy has outlined most of it, I'll add that I want all these companies liquidated, and the dvla to stop selling our personal details onto companies for their profit, and for the profit of these cowboys. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
