    Hi Bod1467,

I.e. The driver will have to pay up now? There's no method for challenging the ticket?

Sugar thats me £162 down as it was me convincing the driver not to pay up :(

What makes you even THINK anyone NEEDS to pay up now?

(Whilst you didn't directly answer my question, the tone of your reply suggests Yes to a windscreen ticket).

Wait for other replies for advice on how best to proceed. (Which may be to continue in Ignore mode until you receive an actual Letter Before Claim / Action or actual court papers).

The clock can always be reset even if there was a windscreen ticket. There are no end of stories from people where the PPC allege that a ticket was left on the car but the driver never saw one. This can be down to some prankster (no relation) removing the ticket or even the parking attendant removing it after taking a photograph "To avoid confrontation".

    Thanks Nigelbb,

But won't the camera show the driver picking the ticket up, opening it and reading it?

    What camera?

@Nigel ... Yes. But if the PPC allege a windscreen ticket was placed then they're under no obligation (per the BPA CoP) to accept an appeal from the driver.

Wossup ... when was the Notice to Keeper received from MET? (If the incident date was 30/1/14 then the MET NtK should have been received between 28/2/14 and 27/3/14 by my calculations).

Camera? I think you're watching too much fly-on-the-wall cop-squad TV.

    You have some simple options:

    1. Naming the driver with serviceable address - whether this is legit or not is rather moot if MET 'bite' and issue a NtD to the driver. Much will depend how well versed they are in all things PoFA and BPA CoP. You've nothing to lose. If they do bite we can help the driver to easily win this at POPLA.

    2. If they refuse and wish to continue pursuing you, you can ignore anything further that drops through your letterbox (unless it's a formal LBCCC/LBA or court papers which must not be ignored - see 3. below). You take a chance that the whole threatogram chain will eventually peter out as it has done in zillions of previous cases.

    3. Await LBCCC/LBA or court papers then come back for advice on preparing a defence (MET only instigated 2 court proceedings in the past year) - see here:

    https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/179544/response/444525/attach/3/A%20FINAL%20REPLY%20TO%20LEWIS%2085865.doc

so do the math on probability.

    4. Finally, have you contacted the McD manager and sought their help in getting this kicked out? There are many 'success stories' in CM's specific thread on 'Complaints', including specific MET/McD ones, here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4766249

This approach may provide the easiest, and possibly earliest, success path.
