B & Q's Emulsion - Poor Covering?

I am just painting the walls of our house after it was all replastered. My little boy chose a royal blue colour from B & Q. He only has a small bedroom but so far we have had 3 coats of paint - after allowing 2 months for the plaster to fully dry out. But it still looks patchy.
I've bought more expensive paint for the other rooms in the house and am inclined to ask for a refund. Maybe they'd send somebody around if they don't believe me.
Thoughts??

I only buy Dulux from one of their Decorator centres, trade paint covers much better.

Can be more expensive, but you get what you pay for. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Yes I regret it now. I've bought Crown for other rooms and that covers very well too.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
We made the mistake of using B&Q paint on unprimed/unsealed plaster, not long before it started flaking off. Other similar walls where we used Dulux were no problem.0

If it is a dark colour at three coats you may only be halfway there. Our dark grey wall needed 6 coats of Dulux Trade emulsion.0

Yup, have only used B & Q once, never again!0

Mmm Thanks for all the replies.
I went back to B&Q today and they gave me a refund. I bought some Dulux paint and hopefully the other coats will act as a good base.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
I don't think much of their paint. We painted my daughter's room from white to a very very dark plum. It took one good and one light coat for perfect finish using Crown.0

no real help now but a mist coat of white may have helped!
at B&Q they usually have offers on the more expensive paint that makes it worth paying the few extra £ for a better quailty of paint0 -
I'd never use B&Q paint again either. It took 4 tubs of their Classic Red to cover 2 white walls, and it still doesn't look very good. Awful coverage, awful texture and chips/marks far too easily.Internet earnings:

iPoll - £150 -
I tried b&q white gloss for my skirting boards. It was awful. It would have needed 3 or 4 coats. I took it back to b&q and they admitted it was rubbish and only suitable as an undercoat.0
