Scrapping car tomorrow, do i need to SORN?

Car has no tax or mot and scrap yard are coming to collect tomorrow (done through removemycar). Do I need to SORN it still?

You shouldn't need to - more info here https://www.gov.uk/scrapped-and-written-off-vehicles/scrap-your-car
As usual with DVLA you need to chase them up if you don't get confirmation (especially if your SORN runs out at the end of this month).0 -

SORN don't run out anymore until the vehicle changes ownership or its put back on the road.0 -
It's not sorn'd yet. Just to confirm, I do NOT have to sorn it when scrapping? Thanks0

If scrapping a car you should ensure you get a cert of destruction off the scrap yard, their computer is linked to the dvla and informs them that the car is scrapped.0

For the amount of hassle involved - two seconds on the website - I'd just SORN the thing now. You'll need your V5C handy to scrap it, anyway.0
