Black horse debt ''written off''

    car was written off march 2011 debt was sold on aug 2011 I was assured via phone and unfortunalty not in writing that having the car bac would cancel out the remaining money or leave about £500 which I was prepared to pay.

    Ok. Selling the debt is an indicator of a default under ICO guidelines. So should be dated no later than that. That will mean it drops off your report sooner. Which is after 6 years from default date.

    Written complaint to the current owner, then refer to FOS if rejected.

    You could also complain about the fact you were told what you state and that you shouldn't owe that much.

    Who reported the default? complain it should not have defaulted and if they can't prove it did then they require them to remove it.

    6 million is some debt...

    Yeah. I had one for 200k. Someone got their decimal points wrong.

    Add that to the complaint list too as a default that size will cause many more issues than a small one.

    I have complained to the relevent people and all ''have no record as hte debt was sold on'' or since the break up off lloyds tsb we dont have a record of it

    Resend your complaint to the current debt owner.

    Refer to FOS when they attempt to fob you off as they will.

    At least you will likely get that default moved to 2011. Maybe even better.

    Not your issue that they have lost your details.

    FOS can take up to 6 months if needed, sometimes longer. Worth it here though in my opinion.
