Thanks, Tim
So which manufacturer do you recommend? Or aren't you allowed to say?0 -
... and what is a reasonable price to pay for a really good quality mattress? (I have a 6ft bed frame)0

No I'm afraid I'm not allowed to say, as it could be viewed as advertising.
If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.0 -

That depends on what you buy, and who from. One thing you can guarantee is that you will pay far less on line, especially if you buy a mattress from a smaller independent manufacturer.0 -
I ordered a Silentnight mattress from mattressonline in late November for delivery on 8th Dec. I was advised of a delivery time slot of between 0730 and 1230. By 1315 no mattress. I called. I was given a telephonic shrug of shoulders and told to call the courier firm. I did. They said no record of any delivery to me that day. Day 1 of wasted annual holiday :-( Called again next day (Thursday) to be told delivery rescheduled and I should wait by my front door all day. I did. No delivery despite being told on 3 occasions throughout the day that driver was "on his way". Unbelieveably an encore again the following day (Friday). Monday came and all the staff at both mattressonline and the couriers were either hungover or having a very bad day. Attitude from beginning to end!!! I reckon their company mantra is "can't do, won't do". Rudest ever delivery driver eventually turned up at 3.30 pm. Total days of annual holiday wasted = 4. Likelihood of a repeat order = 0. Likelihood of me recommending this company = 0.
My advice. AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!0 -
Ordered a Mattress from them (over £1,000) late on a Monday afternoon, my husband also ordered it (from a different place) we'd completely crossed our wires!
I phoned them at 9 on Tuesday morning to cancel the order, they are very unhelpful and have made me wait the full 30 days for my refund and have charged me a 4.5% cancelation fee - £60 for nothing.
I've contacted the Office of Fair Trading and my bank and both have said the fees are excessive and may not be legal under the DSR - Here we go.
Do yourself a favour and avoid.0 -
Ohhh and the directors names are Steven Adams and Steven Kelly.0

Wow - I'm so grateful for this site! I was literally just about to order from them, but being a savvy spender checked out the reviews first - a whole lot of time and money saved!

MATTRESSONLINE.CO.UK
I ordered my Silentnight Miracoil mattress around 10.20am yesterday, had an confirmation email at 10.23. Had another email at 16.50pm, saying the mattress had been dispatched, for next day delivery, and had to be in from 07.30am to 13.00pm.
The matress was delivered at 10.24am. I had to cut through 2 packaging, to have a good look, to see if it was the same pattern and make, as on their website, everything was fine, them i signed for it.
I did have a look at reviews, about this website before i brought it, but the price was good value and i saved alot of money, which is the main reason, for buying from this website, plus next day delivery.
Would use them again.0 -
this company are a complete joke. they recieved the order giving full confirmation of this am delivery the day after, you sit about all day waiting for something to arrive. Nothing! you ring them and they say it's the delivery company not us, you then ring around and nothing, no mattress, no refund, no nothing.
My advise, keep well away, pay the extra and go to a local shop!0
