Did you miss Rustyboy21 post then?
He seems to have missed that too:cool:
The boys a fool:eek:
Never said that it was a terrorist issue why they are charging, they have closed off parking outside the terminals at the majority of airports now, they are filtering them away from outside, so the area is clear. People ( maybe numpties like yourself ) had a habit of parking up outside, taking their passengers inside, checking in, going for a coffee with them and totally blocking up the area ,as well as being a security risk, stopping it for everyone else who most likely adhere to the rules about just dropping off and going.
Of course it is a source of revenue and if you were not such of a kn0b and read my posts properly, you would see that I said that.
Stop trolling you muppet and read posts in full before starting typing your scrawl !Care in the community is obviously not working for you !0 -

What do I have to explain, you muppet?
2007 Terrorist car bomb, Glasgow Airport
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Glasgow_International_Airport_attack
Or are you 3 years old and don't remember?
Major incident, which brought forward blocking off roads in front of terminal buildings across the country.
Airports now, still block private cars from outside Terminals, Now sent to car parks further away, which are now being used also as a revenue earner, to support the improvement plans for the airport upgrades.
That better for you smart ar5e?
Or do you want to substantiate, what you mean by the remarks?;)0 -

These are "optional" - you will still be able to drop off and pick up free (for 20 mins) at Liverpool at a section of the long stay car park.0 -
In the UK we simply get on with things and have a knack of just accepting price increases through some kind of justification or another.
For example, who remembers a few years ago when you couldn't look at a single news outlet without thinking the world was going to flooded and that the weather was going to get out of control. Taxes were introduced and labelled as green taxes that helped offset global warming. Half the worlds scientists argued with the other half about whether global warming was controllable and the issue was brushed under the carpet. Now we hear nothing about it - why? Because the taxes are already there and we've accepted them.
Everyone that flies out of the UK already pays ridiculously in airport fees, taxes and surcharges and this is yet another stealth charge aimed at supporting the bottom line whilst passenger numbers continue to be at an all time high. I mean did you know that the Heathrow express, per mile is one of the most expensive rail journeys on earth?
We live in a country that seems to have absolutely no concession for anyone other than profit, at any cost. And people just accept that.
Still, at least in the UK we don't have the infuriating 'terminal' fees that much of the world has. Though believe me, they are likely just around the corner and will probably be passed off as congestion charges or some other garbage.
But hey, we're British, let's just accept it and excuse it away.0 -

I dont want to accept them, apart from emigrating can you tell me how to avoid them0 -
Why is it so important to drop off and pick up right at the terminal?
As others have said you can drop off at the park and ride or even park up and accompany the travellers and get the shuttle bus for free which runs every few minutes.
We thought it was a brilliant service.0 -

Charming as ever;)
Before the nurse comes to take to you bed and strap you down it's this statementIt is similar at a number of airports now, so I cant see why you are surprised after what happened at Glasgow airport.
Made in LARGE PRINT so you can see.
Maybe I read it wrong  but you seem to suggest that by charging a nominal fee terrorists will not drive cars to near the the terminal.

Just for yours and everyone else's information, I will give the charges that a small regional airport like Blackpool charge airlines for using them. Take into account, these are top prices, open to negotiation.
For a Boeing 737 series
Landing fees £240
passenger sup ( per pax 130 pax) £2200 ( inc Security)
Airport parking per day of no use £100. if using plane £0
Water/Toilet fees £35
Ground power unit £50
Ground Handling ( baggage/cleaning ) £500.
So for a 737 with 130 passengers the Airport gets
£3125.00.
Blackpool has approx. 8 flights a day, so they make £25,000 a day, to run the whole airport, without fixing anything, bills like electric etc, ATC costs, Catering, Staffing, Car parks etc.
And then you wonder why they have started charging for Car parks, They are not a Charity. You cannot even use the argument that Food etc sold in the Airport is on top, only a small % of this will come to them. The stores are Franchises.
So, There you go, wont respond to another one of your posts, just get your facts right in future, I do very well know and never said that charging£2.00 to park, is going to deter a terrorist, maybe on the planet you come from maybe, but not dear old Blighty !0
