Ground source heat pump - anyone installed one?

Has anyone here installed a ground source heat pump or in the process of installing one under the new government rebate scheme?
I was wondering if they could talk a little about he electricity consumption of the compressor unit as I understand that this runs at approx 2.4kw ie like a kettle on 24/7 (even though I understand that one unit used = 4 units of gas saved and is more energy efficient.
I'm just a little concerned that it might not live up to its predicted energy saving claims. I read somewhere that radiators don't get hot just warm and that this is best suited for underfloor heating which we will have mainly downstairs.
Thx.

No personal experience, but if you don't get sufficient answers on this board, you could try asking on the Alternative energy board instead (just say you were redirected there from here).
