Automatic censor

I posted this on another thread, but haven't had an answer.

Is there an answer? :-

"Talking about the automatic censor, I COULD understand why, the other day on another thread, (to do with saving water and leaking taps etc.), it wouldn't let me write ballcock as two separate words.

However, I am still perplexed as to why it wouldn't let me write an e with an acute accent. (I was trying to write pâte with a accent on the e, but all I got was pât!.)
It happened again when I tried to write 'touch!' (touche with an e+acute), as you can see here!

The grave accent, è, is ok, but e+acute accent comes out as an exclamation mark!
Yet a capital E with an acute accent is ok.......É.

What is profane about a lower case e+acute???"

    Thank you.

I see it has something to do with spam.

Not too sure why spammers only use e+acute and not other accents, but hey ho!

Just one more thing, though. The word patÉ, is admittedly, not usually written in English any more with the circumflex over the a, but without the accent on the e, patÉ becomes the English word pate, so could be confusing in some contexts. Similarly, touchÉ becomes touch! or touche, which again is a bit misleading.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks again for the link.
