Using Vonage with Virgin Media Broadband

Hi,

Just wanted some thoughts on people using Vonage with Virgin Broadband. Is it reliable?

I am thinking of cancelling my phone line and just keep the broadband.

Works perfectly fine, I've been using it for the past few months without an issue. Just be wary that in the event of a power cut you won't have any service whereas with a normal landline you would still be able to use it.

I haven't cancelled my VM line as yet as the contract isn't up but will be doing once it does.

I had cable for 3 or 4 years and cancelled the phone one my minimum term was up - I only took it for the free install which, at the time, cost more than the years extra cost of the line. I never used the cable phone - I started out using an ATA and some VOIP provider I can't remember. When I cancelled the cable phone I ported the number to Vonage and still use them now even though I've moved to FTTC. It worked OK on cable despite the jitter.
