New Boiler but which one!

Yes to power flush, some TRV's (we have some) and also wireless control and removing an old rad and putting in a new one0

Worcester every time for me. My last house was a 3 bed semi with upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room, with 4 adults in the property. Never had a problem with it, but the 2 bathrooms were never in use at the same time, so can't comment on whether it would be sufficient for demands of 2 bathrooms used simultaneously.
Now in an end terrace with 2 adults and have gone with another Worcester. My mate is a heating engineer and swears by them.0 -
WB Juniors are crap
for the work involved even £2135 for the Vailliant is cheap
Look at the Baxi AdvantaI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Another vote for the vailant, mine hasnt missed a beat.0

I have a WB 34CDI iirc. It's been perfect so far and came last year with a 7yr parts and labour warranty.0

Our Gloworm hasn't missed a beat since it was installed 15 years ago.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Might be worthwhile checking if you are entitled to a free boiler from your local council. We had ours done from local council.SECRET OF SUCCESS IN LIFE:
Patience, patience & patience.0 -
I have the 28i junior, been great so far. Quiet and I get plenty hot water pressure for a great shower but I'm certain pressure would be very low if you tried to run two showers at once. Heats my un-insulated 3 bed end terrace up very quickly in the coldest weather. Being at the cheaper end of the worcester range, it has a two year guarantee. Vaillant are also good I understand. I was advised that Vaillant were better in a brand new system and if not replacing all of the pipes and rads then Worcester Bosch were better, but I can't remember who told me that or why.
I replaced another cheap boiler that lasted three years then was written off (Ferroli, AVOID) so as most if the cost is in the fitting I decided to spend more on the product and choose a brand with loads of spares availability.0 -
All depends on what flow rate you have available as to whether a combi is suitable. If you have the flow rate then get the highest kW input your budget allows. I have the same as you ie 4 people with 2 bathrooms. I have a WB greenstar 37CDI. Any higher really would be a waste. 7 year warranty. I wouldn't drop down the WB range - too many problems for me to list.
The only other boiler I would choose to have in my own home is a Viessman. 10 year warranty but you are tied to their own agents who are few and far between.
Vaillants are ok but way overpriced for a tarted up gloworm.
Ideal - no quibble heat exchanger replacement as so many of them leak internally dumping their pressure out through the condensate.
Baxi/Avanta/Remeha/Main - countless issues and all their designs are moving to Broag's models (acquired Baxi Potterton 2011 when they were going bust).
It's really sad to be so scathing all but a few boilers on the market but I've nearly given up install work as there is so much repair work out there for me.
To the OP. Before you let anybody convert your system to a combi, if you have your central heating pipework embedded in concrete floors downstairs you could have corrosion damaged joints/pipework that when put under 1+ bar pressure could leak. If you do have embedded pipework have them pressure test it before you go ahead or budget in a repipe downstairs should it leak.0
