I suspect you're referring to the code assisting people who have inadvertently transferred money to an incorrect account. Not people who have fallen foul of a scam by deliberately transferring money. I reckon it's pretty likely the money transferred is no longer within the UK banking system.
Oh I dont disagree it is likely it is withdrawn or transferred again as soon as it hits, also you are correct in terms of the difference in people falling foul of a scam and incorrectly sending to a wrong account, I meant I would be saying to my bank that it was incorrectly sent, I wouldnt be telling them it was a scam payment
  • Dear All, just to let you know that not all is lost in terms of recovering the money.
I was one of the hasty (foolish) buyers from Gotmand a couple of weeks ago and read this thread which had just begun posting only too late!
The trick is that Mr Gotmand gives a Santander account as a payment and I also happen to be a Santander account holder so they pricked up their ears a little more.
I have had a couple of conversations with them and they are investigating the case as we speak. As you can see the website gotmand is no more.
I have been assured that money will be refunded to my account in the next few days once they Santander team investigating his account gets to the bottom of it.
I have also reported it to Fraud Online.
Whoever bank you are with, when you speak to them you can say to them to get in touch with Santander fraud team and therefore help them take care of your case too.
I might be ok after all. I hope everyone else scummed from Mr Gotmand will also get their money back.

Sorry to hear a few people were caught by the scammers. I wish google shopper would not include these scam sites in their results but I suppose it is all automated. Any updates on money being got back?
