this is a very good point, I was talking to someone who was actually retiring early. he was counting down the clocking times, hes on his own at home. I could hear the sadness in his voice as his last day approached. it must leave a huge emptiness in ones life. I know we all think - just get an interest but its not the same..
Zippy what a relief, My DH was paid off about about 10 years ago from the local council He has a small pension and works part time in the summer but it took him months to get over the loss of companionship
but all in all my friends that have gone have set themselves up in some way. or just retired early. im looking forward me meeting up with them tonight so don't wait up elite.

Morning. Nanny - hope your BIL and you all get good news from his op this morning.
Happy birthday to Durham and jelly
I've been up since 6am (thanks tigercub!). Done M&s and A. Did a muggle shop and bought the 3 for £6 cereals and 4 for £5 (I know they are mixed stores).. Did as a test really to see if anything coming up and we are almost out of cereal anyway. House needs a good tidy (cleaner on hols and boy have I missed her!)
Looks like it's about to rain - best unpack the car

I think you could be right Fairclaire as when I tried to go to Tassimo through Quidco last night (and again this morning) I got the following message:
"This retailer is currently experiencing technical issues and is temporarily unavailable. They hope to be back on Quidco shortly."“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”
