Westie, it never seems to amaze me how this thread crosses with my RL. Yesterday I signed up for a MH awareness course It’s not till October as earlier courses are full. I am seeing this more and more in the workplace and most often it is met with very little sympathy
    .

I have to say my own experience with this has been that there is a large difference between people in their attitude to MH issues

I remember a few years ago the pressure I was getting from the boss (and his boss) about my depression/anxiety (they were desperately trying to demote me) was awful and having an independent negative effect on my health. I really had to fight to keep my job, despite working really hard to get well again (which I almost am now)

Now I have a new boss, and had to take a few days off a few months ago as I'd crashed a bit, and he honestly treated it the same as if I had flu or something :D

I really do believe attitudes are changing for the better as well :T

Oh, tell me more! I think as long as his feet are covered, he wouldn't mind.

I haven't used them I'm afraid, I just remembered seeing them somewhere so I googled it before posting to make sure I wasn't making it up :rotfl:

That's useful. Thanks you very much. I will go on a hunt for these later.
This has brought back a vague memory of swimming lessons at school. And the utter shame of having to wear a dreaded rubber sock if you had a verruca:eek::rotfl::rotfl:

Got apg's back from 6.40 shops - musical apples, beef joint and carver ham all still working. No 500g bacon in Killingbeck store arrghh. Assured only do smaller size (330g something) yeh right - got it anyway for OH bacon butties this weekend and it doesn't compare.

Remember musical apples also good in Mr M shop.

Been up since 5am and now tired, but not been for a shop for ages and been praying for healthy glitches - had to be done. Could do with going back to bed - but dd on Inset day today- so I am off to rescue her from an electronic rectangle - when I've caught up. :rotfl:

Got 2nd follow-up mammogram this afternoon - so a dash to Otley required (rescheduled due to Prince concert last week :p). Hope they are quicker with the results this time......

I think it helps that people are more able to be open with these illnesses, I've never suffered but mum has had depression (I can't think of a phrase to use - I don't want to say on and off as that sounds like it's something that can be cured but I hope you know what I mean) for several years but before this it just didn't occur to me how bad it is
