:o:o:o I still have nightmares of mine being in my mouth & pulling my teeth :o

Mine had 2 gaps on the sides & when you ate, the mushed up food would lodge between the brace & the roof of my mouth :p:p:p:p

My DN is undergoing a course of treatment/operations to extend her lower jaw.
At the moment she has had teeth removed & has a mouth full of metal. Unfortunately some bits cut her tongue badly & we are trying to think of what could be put on the sharp bits to stop this?

Awwww bless her, sorry cant help though:o

Sorry not been about for most of the week, was my Aunties funeral yesterday. Difficult day, :( especially for her close family and my Mum who had to be taken out of hospital for the afternoon. But obviously she wouldn't have missed it for the world.

I was very MSE and made her tribute with 3 small flower bunches from Lidls and a large selection I cut from my folks garden. This was from me and my 3 sisters. The family requested that not much was spent on flowers as they were taking donations for charity. :A

Not really done any catching up, but just checked previous page and thought i'd reply to this, as my DS has knowledge having almost completed his treatment.

These are the colours he can remember, they are small rubber pieces glued to the teeth behind the metal bracket. Dark blue, light blue, red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, white, grey. His words just now were avoid the yellow, orange or green coz they are rank! :rotfl::rotfl: As a teenage boy he liked the lighter blue. I think they prefer to make a thing of showing them off rather than try to hide what can obviously be seen, so don't bother with having grey or white. :D

I think there is a lot less bullying these days as they are so common, and can look quite trendy.

    HTH
    big hugs elsie :A

thanks :) fingers crossed no bullying when DS2 has them :o

What age is your son cheerleader? My DS2 was referred a few years ago, but it's only now that all his adult teeth have grown in that he's ready for a brace. His teeth are so bad they affect his speech :( his top teeth are catching on his lip.
Unfortunately he gags when anything is put in his mouth, I think it's a sensory problem. He's always had it. We only got as far as them trying to make the mould of his teeth and they had to give up :(
So Ive no option but have it done under GA, which is quite unusual but not impossible. He's had to have all his major dental treatment done under GA. The paediatric dental team at the local hospital are going to do it privately, they won't fund it. I'm looking at around £5000:eek: :(
I feel his problem is bad enough that I can't leave it. Why give him another problem to cope with when it can be fixed, is the way I see it.
Not looking forward to the bill though :(

FC, is there an appeal process you could go through with regards to getting NHS funded treatment? My BIL was refused a 'new' cancer treatment about 7 years ago due to it's expense. My sister appealed, and was successful in getting it funded after quite a battle. He had the treatment, and although will never be back to his former fitness, is doing very well. Defo worth a try.

I would talk about this more but should have left the house about 15 mins ago.

McVities Breakfast Biscuits S £2.29 vs A £1 and, of course, Cheesecake Creams etc. £1.19 vs 50p. And Tuc Snack Crackers £1.39:T (unless you are near the £10 cap) vs 50p.

    Philadelphia 300g £1.50 (Sains price reduction:() vs £1 A.
Birds Eye Crispy Chicken Dippers 12 pack £1.69 vs £1 A (but treat as a 10p loss as I'm waiting for T to go down to £1, then Avs T). Dairylea Dunkers £2.25 v £1.
