I wonder if this will create the same level of fury that was directed at Amazon & Starbucks.

Trouble is that they'll get the timing and length of the tour right to make sure that they're non resident so won't have to pay UK tax on the profit it makes! Just like how singer/songwriters move to Switzerland for a few year to make a new album because of the "creative" benefits of Switzerland - nothing to do with lower tax rates then?

No chance, the sports/pop stars are never subjected to the same bile that businesses suffer.

Good to see Cameron coming out to condemn this:
"People work hard, they pay their taxes, they save up to go to one of his shows. They buy the tickets. He is taking the money from those tickets and he, as far as I can see, is putting all of that into some very dodgy tax avoiding schemes."

Except he was talking about Jimmy Carr.

Asked to comment on Tory supporting Gary Barlow:

"I'm not going to give a running commentary on different people's tax affairs."

People are entitled to challenge the tax system through the relevant legal process as long as they pay up at the end if it is found that the tax is due...

Also HMRC will get powers to raid peoples account for owed tax. Lets hop they go after tax dodging landlords. Think of all the teacher and nurse salaries that will pay.
