UKCPS parking charge

Hi, I know there are other threads on this, but I thought I would keep this separate.
In our local town, there is a car park, outside a LIDL & BM bargains that we have used for the last few months, it's a free to use car park, however in the last week, I have received two penalty charge notices from UKCPS due to overstaying! both letters wanting £60 within 14 days.
One was ok, but two? Appreciate they are for two 'offences' but I am really reluctant to pay, even though it was an overstay?
Having read other threads about UKCPS and private land parking, would you say we are still within our rights to refuse to pay, I think it is excessive and extremely unfair!!!

Advice is to read (a couple of times) the NEWBIES sticky and make a soft appeal for both PCNs separately to UKCPS using the template there. Do not ignore. Expect to lose your first appeal, then come back for help with second appeal to POPLA. You can expect to win this as the forum has a very high success rate for this. (If you call 100% high!)Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0

Please do start at square one and don't pass 'go' until you've read the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!' thread at the top, which you may have seen already but which gives you your first appeal wording (doesn't matter about the circumstances). It also tells you about the acronyms like 'no GPEOL':

We have 100% record of winning appeals at POPLA stage, for over a year now. But UKCPS will very probably cancel when they see the usual forum template first appeal. This is NOT a fine nor a 'penalty' at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
