Can I use the just the flights in a package holiday

Hi,
I booked a package holiday with Thomsons some months ago to Turkey, self catering for the family and it was pretty cheap. Since booking a friend has booked a Villa nearby and wants us to stay with them. Simple question is can I use the flights from the package holiday and not take the transfer and the hotel. I was obviously thinking of telling the reps at Dalaman airport when we arrive so that the coach and hotel are not waiting for us.
Is there anything wrong with what we are doing?
Many thanks
Nick

Nothing wrong at all - you've already thought of telling the rep which will save a lot of teeth-gnashing from the other passengers....

Thanks for that. I thought as much, it was just pulling on my conscience whether it was right or not, but I guess nobody is losing out as long as they know not to wait around for us.
    Thanks

As you have said, you need to tell the reps what you are doing, so you are not classed as missing. You may need to go to the resort accommodation towards the end of your holiday, in order to confirm you will be on the flight home and what time the pick up is, if you are using it.

Other thing to think about, is the visa regs. Do you have to notify them of where you are staying? Might just be easier to check in at yor package accommodation, with out taking bags in, then stay with friends rest of holiday. Then get picked up at accommodation for your flight home. Did this years ago in Majorca. Went with OH to Cala d'or for a week. Was miles away from any good night life, so packed bags with enough clothes and got a taxi to Palma city, booked a hotel and went out clubbing all night. Last day, went back to Cala D'or and got transfer back.

    Worth thinking about.

To be honest the resort I was going to, Icmelar and where I am now staying are probably about 2.30 hours apart, so thats not feasible. I think i'll email the hotel and advise them in advance, they may even be able to rent out the room again. At the end of the day nobody is losing out monetary, its all been paid for...?? As far as I know there are no visa regs in Turkey, they don't ask for details of destination. I've been about 10 times and they've just changed to the evisa and it didn't ask there.

Even better, just logged into my booking on Thomsons and there's an option for cancelling the transfers. All sorted, I'll just email the hotel now so that they can make a bit more money and sell the room on.
