Bought a double bed on Groupon: total nightmare!

I purchased a double frame bed and mattress for £200 via Groupon. A great deal which costed me, however, 2 days off and a headache!
After 10 days, I've received a confirmation SMS from the delivery company, DX, which explained me that my fantastic double bedroom would have been delivered on 7th May (from 8am until 6 pm).
I took a day off from work, waiting at home the whole day.
After calling both Groupon (via chat and phone) and the delivery company, the agents told me it was not possible to deliver my package on time.
I waited one more day, I received an SMS from DX delivery where they assured me that the bed would arrive on time at max 6 pm.
In the afternoon I received another sms from them where they explained me that my package could not be delivered.
I called their customer service and the agent assured me it was a mistake. At 5 pm I called one more time DX customer service and their agent explained me that the vann arrived but they could not park.
I was at home the whole time, outside my flat there's a wide parking lot and I haven't received any call from the delivery man.
They will send the package on MONDAY when I will be at work.
I asked for a refund but Groupon didn't come back to me at all, just a short message in their chat where they will see what they can do.
Delivery Company is DX Freight
Did you go through a similar experience?
Have you purchased the same item from Groupon?
Let me know :mad::mad::mad:

In theory there's two contracts here - the sale of goods with Groupon, and the delivery contract with DX.
The problem you have at the moment is that whilst you haven't received the goods, Groupon haven't mislead or revoked the sale with malicious intent - the courier company has let them down on two occasions. There isn't much Groupon are likely to do except to help contact the courier again and request/demand a third delivery be scheduled.
After about 2 or 3 failed deliveries, the courier companies usually hold it in their local depot for 3-4 working days to see if you'll come and claim it, then it's sent back to the seller as a R.T.S failed delivery.
Unfortunately, courier companies are a law unto themselves, as a lot of them use causal-hour drivers who don't give a hoot about the job and just want to make the minimum number of deliveries they need to make in order to get paid.
Your only options at the moment are to continue updating Groupon and see if they'll work WITH you - yes, you might be irritated with them at the moment, but they'll be on your side and will want this to be delivered to you as well - to get the items delivered by the courier, or wait until the courier confirm it's in a hold bay at their local depot and (if you have the ability to) collect it yourself. You may be able to then claim travel expenses to the depot for collection to the courier company.0
