Sky Retention Saving

Hi All
Looking at cost cutting - the huge outlay to Sky every month seemed the way to go. As we don't watch much TV we've binned that (and the licence also)
Then we said we wanted to switch broad band & phone to PlusNet. Sky countered by halving my line rental so it works out £15.20 for unlimited BB & phone against £18.98 for PlusNet's equivalent.
Always worth a discussion

I managed to get 12 months free line rental out of Sky last year. Almost time to phone them again and see what I can get this time round.0

I phoned them the other week and got a years free Broadband out of them, and cancelled my tv. I only had it as it was free as part of the O2 to Sky change last year.
Got a letter a few days later saying sorry you have cancelled the TV, we are charging you an extra £2.50 a month for not having it.
Talk about money for (literally) nothing.0 -

You lost the discount you had when you had the TV package. Now you don't have it you have to pay the higher price - fairly common practice.0 -
Not money for nothing , but a loss of discount. £2.50 is good for broadband, considering you have already had 12 months free.0
