Buy-to-let landlord defrauding benefits system - how do i report it?

You'll find in life that it's often those who shout a lot who have very little to shout about.
He probably doesn't even have a BTL empire, but if he is defrauding the system he deserves to be shopped. You never need to get involved to give evidence or the like because the DWP will be able to find harder evidence than simple hearsay.
Use the links provided by silvercar and don't even bother having a second thought.
Jealous of a benefit cheat? You don't half make me laugh, pickles. "Do it for the right reasons" Oh right, and there's the rest of us thinking that bragging about commiting benefit fraud was a good enough reason to report someone for, er, commiting benefit fraud.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sorry bad day at work0 -
Aye I agree with all of you. And here's me wondering if I could rent a place from my sister so that we wouldn't have to live in a slum dump and she could afford to pay for a nicer place and have us live in it until she retires in 7 years. My partner is 64 and has had Parkinson's for 9 years so is on DWP. When I think where we are now makes me want to weep. He has worked every day of his life from the age of 16 until the Parkeys hit and to hear of those fraudsters makes your blood boil. Can I rent from my sister so that we can live closer to the hospital for all the appointments that crop up every week? Or do we have to rent from a dump for the same money as where the hospital is isn't the nicest of areas in Scotland to rent? Scumbags those others and why do they get benefits? Why don't they go out and work like the rest of us had to do for years and years and never took a penny from the government. I have posted this question on another thread too. Taffy0

Shop them! Details have been given above in previous posts.
There was a case in our locality quite recently, a couple, both guilty of this. Husband claimed he hadn't been aware that wife had bought 2 houses. Wife had bought 2 houses but had difficulty with the court proceedings because she spoke no English. They were both on benefits. No explanation was given as to how she managed to buy 2 houses locally while speaking no English!
Another case locally was a grandmother on benefits who was 'saving to help out her children and grandchildren'. She had several bank accounts with thousands in them but was on benefits. Even during the court proceedings, it was reported, she was NOT convinced that she'd done anything wrong.

Thanks for the links. I will probably call as the situation is quite complex and they may want to ask me questions about it.
Again I can't answer many of the issues raised because the details may give away too much detail. The key things are that these people are very wealthy and have no need to "steal" money from the government in this way, I believe they pay for legal help and would quickly use it if they because aware that an investigation was happening. They are a bit "Jade" in the way they lead their lives out of spite and hate for others.
I'm sure £100,000 that these people have been claiming would help the two people who needed medical care.
If you're clever enough to work the benefits system they way these people have then you for sure understand that what you are doing is wrong.
My motives are not jealousy but honestly just to get rid of them somehow as they damage they have done here and to people's lives is massive and only done out of spite - can't say any more.
i will let you know how tomorrow goes and if things go well / if it's ever reported in a local rag - you read it here first.0 -
yes go for it!!!!!!For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Ok,
Have called up the number and given them the details.
They wanted descriptions about the people, cars and daily routines but I made it very clear about how long it had been going on etc and how they would be tricky people to convict.
There wasn't much surprise when i mentioned the well-known person's name...maybe they've seen it all before0 -

Thanks for being brave and reporting it. It seems ridiculous that these people can get away with stealing from the rest of us (as well as being nasty about it). There are many people who work hard, but need help in their latter years, due to illness or bad fortune and benefit cheats are stealing from them. I applaud you for being brave.0
