Really getting some great advise from here, thanks egrescrimp.
Would a figure of £300 be too much for household, for myself and my two children (with me every other weekend)?
At the end of the day, they get bought things and go out places when they are with me.BR - 27/05/2014 - Divorced Father of 2 Amazing Children, Step Father to Another 2 Amazing Children and Fiancee to an Amazing Lady

Take a look at this document which is designed for a debt relief order, whilst a debt relief order is more flexible a lot of the figures are pretty similar (you can't claim pocket money or sky tv under bankruptcy though!) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7LabJy69BP1M0gxeHQ1SDFiN1E/edit?pli=1
Take a look through that, also add in some of the stuff I've suggested and post a revised SOA for us to look over and make sure it covers your ENTIRE household running expenses.0 -

Stepchange advised that you can claim for sky tv, as long as its the basic package.0 -

You might be able to claim, whether they accept it as an expense is another thing http://www.bis.gov.uk/insolvency/personal-insolvency/income-payments-orders-and-agreements#14, what special circumstances could you give for needing Sky TV?0 -

It would be interesting to hear if anyone has tried to claim and been refused/accepted. I suppose you could argue that having a TV isn't exactly necessary (and what is video hire)? Are extra curricular activities for children necessary?0 -

It is not about necessities, it is about leaving you with a "reasonable" standard of living.0 -

Sorry didn't read the reply good enough. Someone was arguing that having a TV was not a necessity, they never mentioned Sky but I see it was mentioned in earlier posts.0 -

It also seems to be a bit about what you can get away with ie increasing spending in one area to pay for something not listed. Just an observation.
How many bankrupts don't have luxuries like Sky or how many don't do the lottery or smoke?0
