My son has just taken a contract out with orange and has a free magic number. He though we was with Orange, but I have a contract with Vodaphone, but I am prepared to buy my wife an orange pay-as-you-go phone if he would be able to use that contract magic number to a PAYG. Would they allow that?

Thanks for that. His graduation (teaching) is on Friday and they're moving to the south coast. We're going to miss them and the grandchildren. They don't intend having a landline yet so contact is important. I have a mobile with unlimited mins (more or less). My wife has never had a mobile so I will now get her one, that way at least she will be able to talk without worrying about cost. Our daughter is in the RAF so we're going to feel a bit isolated. Plus my wife is unable to walk unaided. ThanksThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You need to top up by a minimum of £10 a month on Orange PAYG to get your magic number discounted calls.

Reading Billsavings post initally deflated me. But having read through the link, I still think what we want would work.
"Simply choose a Magic Number. It can be any Orange UK mobile number "
She will not be wanting a magic number. What we want is for my son to use his magic number to her orange PAYG. We are also of the opinion that her phone would be topped up when it was low, not on a monthly basis. Maybe someone might confirm that we're still on the right track. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
