Vodafone do not return credit on a closed account unless you request it back?!

Not happy, receive my final bill from Vodafone confirming I have a £45 credit on the account on 03 April and almost 6 weeks later still nothing refunded back to my bank account so I call Vodafone this evening to confirm that they'll now start processing my refund (which can take over 2 weeks) but confirmed that unless I'd called, then my £45 would never have been refunded to me! Absolutely disgraceful 'service' and I can say now I won't be going back to Vodafone for sure.

I'm puzzled when this crops up; it's years since I ended up with a credit on terminating the contracts at the end of the minimum term. All the networks I use charge from the final statement date prior to disconnection up to the disconnection date, and not a full month. I'd only have any kind of a balance (a debit one) if I exceeded my pro-rata allowance for that final (part) month - which I never do.
