Maybe the plan is to decommission existing sites such as RAF Norhalt.
Much of the land surrounding RAF Northolt is MOD owned but not actually part of the airport.

Yes, it's probably a good idea to leave some space between the perimeter fence and the next house at any airport. :o
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

I love it when the Bear gang come out with nonsense and then when they get pulled up on it, instead of just going 'LOL, I was just generalising but it's a fair cop, guvnor', they tie themselves up in knots (with they pals jumping in to support them) trying to defend an indefensible position, to the general merriment of all the other forum contributors.

While I have generally moved on from this forum, I do like to come back once in a while for a good old laugh, and I'm glad to report that the usual suspects never fail me in this.

Heathrow has very little. Northolt has acres for an airfileld with a fraction of the traffic.

    Hehe.
Yes, we moved on from "thousands of acres of unused land within the M25" to a bit of grassland around RAF Northolt. :)

    Very little is published.

Are you saying there is no unused government land withing the M25 suitable for housing?

Yes and only after I suggested the base was within the M25.
Little issue with it not being unused though

Build alongside the M25, on the verge. Bit of space there, thousands of yards available :p
Take a look at housing in Brazil or similar, they build wherever the heck they want. Utilisation 101% people build next to railway lines, I could almost be serious on this :D

You made the bold statement that there are 'thousands of acres of unused land', the burden of proof is on you to back up your position, not on other people. You are in great danger of losing credibility...
