There is no toll gate on the m50. RoI registered vehicles are obliged to pay, since the system knows who they are and where they live. A vehicle registered outside the state cannot be traced.

The other motorways have toll gates. Some have two.

They must have access to more than ROI plates as they were able to chase a friend of mine. It was a few hundred Euro so maybe they try harder if there's a possibility of getting more back.

Perhaps he could give me some money as well.

That request is no less enforceable than a demand from eflow on this side of the border.

In the unlikely event that they were to contact a debt collection agency in NI, who then paid the coleraine (or Swansea) vehicle reg office to send them your name and address, your failure to pay would then have to be followed by a court appearance down South, which of course would require your arrest by your local mr plod and your transfer to the custody of the Garda at the border.
Now how likely is all that for failure to pay a toll?

So there's your tip for the week, folks. Ignore the m50 toll, you rebels.

Not the local NI/RoI banking system as most banks have branches north and south, reciprocal agreement
Please tell us more about this "reciprocal agreement". Who do you bank with?
