http://192.1xx.1.1 is the login, to the broadband login admin of the router, while we are using the net.
(the xx are numbers)
It gives the router speeds, connection settings, username, password, LAN settings, and many other numbers.
but from a technical term/word, what is http://192.1xx.1.1? called?
What type of login is it ?
and what is the system logging into?
what is the name for the system ?

Hello Karen,
This is the internal IP address of the router on your home network. The router will give out IP address to all of the devices on your network.
The login is something normally presetup by your service provider and can normally be changed when you login. When you are logging in you are actually logging on to the router.
Ps the xx numbers are no secret ;-)0 -
Indeed, most routers have an IP address of 192.168.0.1, You may be asked for a user and password to log in which varies, sometimes its just admi, admin. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

192.168.x.1 is the router IP address. It is the core of your home network.
All your network (cabled or wifi) devices will be allocated an ip address by the router in the format 192.168.x.x
When using an internet browser to access http://192.168.x.1 you are login onto a website that is being run on the router. This website for configuring and monitoring your home network.
The router will be performing several network roles, including:
DHCP - The allocation of IP addresses to your network devices
DNS - Changes user friendly names like https://www.bbc.co.uk to their true internet ip address i.e. 212.58.244.68
The internet works on numbers not names, in simple terms the names are an overlay so people don't need to remember numbers.
i.e. put 212.58.244.68 in your internet browser and see what happens.0
