Budget items - the favourite option?
Does anyone have any items where they genuinely prefer the budget option like tesco everyday, sainsburys basics, asda smartprice, morrisons whatever it is & lidl or aldis equalivent.
I'll kick off, having tried most brands of porridge, I love lidls 39p a bag stuff.
I hate sainsburys taste the difference porridge!!
I'm trying to think of things, all things being equal (size & price) I would still plump for the budget option.

Asda Wheaties, better than Shreddies. £1 versus £2.
Lidl's wafer ham at £1.79 is better than Asda's at £3.0 -
If I make chilli con carne or nachos I MUCH prefer the cheapy salted tortillas - approx. 39p for a huge bag in Asda etc.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
A lot of people will prefer the cheaper version because these will generally have more sugar, salt and other 'flavour enhancers'.
Eat cheap. Eat rubbish.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Tesco own brand Jaffa cakes are much better than the real thing - the real ones are too sweet.0

Does not compute.
Yes it does, which part are you having difficulty with?
MrsE said she preferred cheap porridge oats
You said people prefer cheap stuff because "these will generally have more sugar, salt and other 'flavour enhancers'.
"
MrsE then replied to say she was sure her porridge oats were just oats.
What did you not understand about that?
Can you not compute that "just oats" means no added sugar, salt flavour enhancers etc.
Perhaps you should try thinking instead of computing.0 -

I think that redcard can't wrap his/her head around the idea that someone can prefer one product over another when both are 'just oats'. Perhaps they don't understand that the size of the oat, the variety (there are more than one species of oat, like there are different types of tomato) and how they are processed will have an impact on the texture and flavour?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
