Unlocking mobile phones?

Hi could someone tell me how and what equipment i need to unlock mobile phones, all mobiles that is not just nokia.

Also is the stuff, equipment/software expensive, is there somewhere online i could purchase this reasonably.

there is nothing that unlocks all phones
for nokia you can calc most of them free but if you get something like prodigy or neelix (about £100)then you can unlock after all 5 attempts have been used as well as flash the s/w which can fix some faults as well as remove the network branding, smart-clip (about £165) will do motorolas and sendos. dataone clip can do a few different models with all the updates.
