The DVLA are still spouting nonsense. A V888 form is required to get keeper details but that is not what you are requesting for as you are the keeper you already know all your own details.

You need to make a complaint to the DVLA & tell them that you believe that your data (that they hold) has been accessed unlawfully. You need them to confirm who & when your details were sold by them to the PPC. If they only purchased the data once but have sent charges for multiple parking events then they have breached the DPA & their contract with the DVLA & should be sanctioned.

The DVLA don't care about the niceties of the DPA but will be upset to discover that they haven't been paid their £2.50 for each ticket sent out. On a practical not the PPC should request data for each 'crime' as the vehicle may have been sold so they cannot assume that the keeper details remain the same.

    Just done so :D

I put it in simple language so they might understand better :D

I can't see a PPC paying for keeper details 2 days in a row, but I may never know.
    FORMAL COMPLAINT

    Hi,

I am still very confused with your response and would like to explain my position a little better to clarify exactly what I need to know.

I am in receipt of a number of invoices/parking charges/tickets from some Private Parking Companies.

I believe my data has been unlawfully stored and not requested from the DVLA which would be standard procedure on this matter.

I would like to complain to the DVLA but first I need to confirm my allegations. So my request is simple, I need to know when each and every request was made for the keepers details by private parking companies so I can check your list against tickets received and process the necessary complaints with the DVLA/ICO.

    Many Thanks.

Don't forget that as an executive agency of the DfT DVLA must demonstrate that they carefully guard the taxpayers' investment in them by ensuring that they secure their own bonuses. Once that's done the devil take the hindmost. Or so it seems.

It would seem that they are using the V888 for a non-standard enquiry but at the end of the day it is entirely their choice how they tie themselves in knots whilst all the time spouting complete bollox to the taxpayer. They are also choosing to take an extremely narrow interpretation of the DPA in respect of requests for details of those who have requested details and, given their form, it is hardly that cynical to suggest that it is just another means of securing those bonuses.

I do wish I knew which pub the executives from SA99 used. Though having said that its probably a chic little wine bar somewhere if ever such a place could exist in Swansea (sorry Stroma). Forgive me but I thought the only think they drank in Swansea was either Brains SA or Felinfoel. Or, in certain parts Buckie, Sudafed or VP Sherry.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

In response to my initial email (Online contact form) they seem to think they are right. The Manager is still looking into it (FOI@DVLA)
    Dear Mr Trubster

Thank you for your email received on 7/5/14. Your email reference number is xxxxxxx.

As advised in the previous email, the V888 application for information is the form you will need to complete.

Below is a section from the V888 form, which relates to your enquiry.

    B. Information about a vehicle that was previously registered, or is registered in your name – the fee is £5. (Fill in sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7)

So that we may help you with your enquiry, you will need to submit your request on form V888 which is available to download by clicking here. The completed V888 should be sent to:

    Vehicle Record Enquiries
    DVLA
    Swansea
    SA99 1AJ

A copy of a utility bill or bank/building society statement, which shows your current address, issued within the last three months, must accompany a V888 request. Please fully read the guidance notes on the V888 before sending your application.

There is a fee for this service. Please make cheque's or postal orders payable to DVLA Swansea.

You will receive a reply within 4 weeks.

If you are unable to download and complete the V888 and require the form to be posted to you, please call our Vehicle Customer Services team on 0300 790 6802. Our opening hours are 8.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 2.00pm on Saturday.

Forward it to David Dunford and ask why you are being asked to pay for an email enquiry about your own car.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Naughty naughty ;) there is no such area as SA99 as it's just the dvla , closest pub would be the Plough and Harrow or Welcome Inn , though I doubt the executives would go there, maybe Studio 95 would be more to their liking after a stressful day of ripping people off?

Felinfoel or feeling foul as I prefer to call it is one to miss I think, but Brains SA is a swear word in Swansea as it's a Cardiff brewery , can't think of any pubs here using them.

For this situation it's ridiculous that a PPC can get your details for £2.50 but for you to get them it's £5! I would make complaints and raise it above the level you are at now
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

At long last, a letter from the DVLA landed on my mat today.

All my Euro charges were made as separate enquiries, even I am surprised at that one.

Strangely a ParkingEye request was made in September 2013 but nothing was received from them at all?
