Virgin media negotiation

Hi,
The Sticky is quite old now, so I was wondering about peoples thoughts, and more relevantly, recent experiences with Virgin media when the 12 month contract is up.
I currently have the 20Mb broadband, phone line rental with no packages, and XL TV. Added to that I have an extra TV Drive set top box and also Sky Sports channels added to the TV line up.
I pay £80 a month which I think is ok, but obviously I want to get the best deal out there "if they want me to stay"
.
What is achievable, what isn;t, and what are the best chat up lines?
cheers.

You just have to shop around and compare prices with other companies, I have always had great deals with them, but have also had major problems fault wise, currently have free 20meg broadband for 12 months free V+ and extra set top box free for 12 months and just have to pay for phone line rental and call charges. I just spoke nicely to them and said that I wasnt getting what I was paying for and was going to have a go with sky. I spoke politely to them and they gave me all that for free.0

I currently pay £30 a month for XL package, 20meg, V+, extra box and phoneline with VM, so im sure you can get them to drop it, just qoute better deals with the retentions dept.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Wow. That's a deal. The only difference between yours and mine is the Sky Sports, which doesn't amount to £50 difference. Is yours reduced for any special specific reason which might not ba available across the board? Also, was that a direct quote ... "better deals"?0

I simply phoned retentions, told them I had been given a better offer with SKY for £26 a month with 16meg, (Do check any advert in a paper with a rival, and qoute that cost, because they can check the prices), In retentions, they get paid commission to keep you, and will literally bend over backwards for you to stay, you can even turn down the first offer they quote you, safe in the knowledge they will make you a better one. Go for it, dont be shy, just pick the phone up and ask for retentions, I Promise it will be worth it for you.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
