Hi All
Has anyone had problems with there Natwest account today, I checked my account online today and it showed transactions that where put through on my account on the 05/07 paid on the 06/07 where being put through again today 07/07 dated again for the 05/07,
I contacted the Natwest action line only to be told that they are aware of the problem and its a system error and it should be all resolved by close of business on Monday 09/07,
And should your account be overdrawn by this error you will be happy to know that you wont be charged any fees, How dam nice of them, lol
What a shambles:mad:

Exactly the same problem with me.
Transaction showing on 5th July.
Same transaction showing on 6th July with '5th July' in the description.
Got the same response that they are aware of this and it is due to some system problems. Money will be re-credited by end of Tuesday.
I like the way they used the phone call as an oppurtunity to try and sell me a large overdraft on my account! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Same here too, and unluckily for me it jsut so happened to be a £1000.00 transaction!! I called and was told it would be fixed by the end of today (Monday 9th).
I'm just hoping to god that it's sorted soon. Already had 3 days without any money now, which is making life a little difficult when I have a few online transactions that were in the middle of being processed and have now all got seriously messed up! :mad:Captured so far - Over £1000!! Thanks MSE!0 -
Just noticed this on my account too - about 300 quid worth of debits. Luckily the one I made on thursday for £7200 wasnt duplicated, or there could have been real trouble !0

I have had the same issue with duplicate payments. Unfortunately for quite a large amount. Apparently any cards beginning 6767 are affected. Have just spoken to them and it should be resolved by Tuesday. A real mess.0

When I called them yesterday, they swore blind it was going to be done by today... Grr.:mad:Captured so far - Over £1000!! Thanks MSE!0

my mortgage went out on thursday and it was duplicated on saturday leaving me very overdrawn aswell as swallowing my child benefit. my hubby is in spain, i rang them and told them i needed to get my child benefit out at least as i had no money here and was told nothing we can do til its sorted. I too was told it would be sorted by today, but when I rang them this morning was told they haven't had an update on it yet. She was kind enough to say I would not incurr any charges for being overdrawn and my direct debits failing today and tomorrow - I kindly reminded her I didn't go overdrawn - they made me overdrawn and asked if she would mind calling the affected companies to explain or do I have to do it at my cost. Was told to just keep checking the online account!. Does anyone know if you can claim compensation for something like this? it has left me high and dry all weekend and caused no end of problems.0

Well it's about 6.40pm now, so I think it's not going to be fixed today.
Really REALLY not happy with them atm :mad:Captured so far - Over £1000!! Thanks MSE!0 -
The problems with natwest systems affected solo card payments made on Thursday 5th July 2007. Communications within the branch network were scandalous. Telephony units had a lot of communication. It will be sorted out overnight today so tomorrow. If the effect has caused any charges whatsoever(ie Direct Debits, Standing Orders or Cheque payments), they will be refunded as it was a Bank Error. Anyone who needed to get out money could have done so over the counter at all branches. I hope that clarifies the issues involved.0

thanks for the info natwest,
you would have thought they could have put a message up on the welcome banner of the online service advising of this. I guess its just us scumbags with solo cards, then it doesnt really matter

Wow thought it was just me. I too have had my child benefit swallowed up. I didn't even know about this until my card was refused at Tescos today. Luckily I had enough cash on me but was very embarrassing0
