UKCPS Parking ticket

I rented an apartment in Liverpool which came with one car parking space. This was a car park with many free spaces, admittedly I parked in the wrong space as my friend had taken mine for a night which i was unable to move!
I had a notice on my car in the morning for a £100 fine but read of here and other places that this company is a scam??
I have just received another letter through the post stating that immediate payment is required £125 or i court proceedings will be instigated and payment could exceed £325
Is this something i should just pay now or is it a scam?
Thanks.

Please read the NEWBIES sticky thread. Everything is explained therein. But before doing so, get the word "fine" out of your vocabulary with respect to these notices. They are not and can never be fines - they are merely speculative invoices.
Also search this forum for UKCPS and look at those threads within the last 6 months (there will be plenty). This is very easy to beat.0 -
No, you should start reading the stickies at the top of the parking forum.
You can then find out how to fine them £29+ VAT FOR TRYING IT ON.Be happy...;)0 -
