Cheapest place to employ a website maker

Hi,
I have found some great designs on the openwebdesign site, but having downloaded some, how do I go about editing the templates to insert my own information? I have looked at the files saved, which are just simple image jpegs, etc. , licensing, and notes, but to view the body of text is in an internet explorer page, which seems to be un-editable.
I want to develop a website over the next few weeks for a small business I'm starting up, but my funds are limited, and I cannot really justify paying out for a website now, as my business isn't necessarily just to be based in the internet domain, however, as a tool to gather interest from clients, and to point future clients in the direction of as a support tool, it would be useful.
Anyway, back to the original point: how do I get rid of the sample text and get my own in there?!!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Looks just like a template with the FLASH edited up top.. that looks like something that could be done for free as it is based on open source CMS0 -
If it's e-commerce you're looking for... i.e., selling stuff... try either Zen Cart or osCommerce (quick search on Google will turn them up). They are both open source, fully featured e-commerce solutions that give you an online shop pretty much from installation. After that, it's a case of tinkering to make it look like your's and not theirs.
Alternatively, there are plenty of people out there (me, for one!
) who can set the whole thing up for a relatively inexpensive price (me, again!
). I'm sure you can find someone out there (ahem!!
) who will do it for you. But, if you learn a bit of PHP and CSS, it's easy enough to do it yourself.
Is shameless plugging regarded as spam??? :rotfl:

Before paying someone for simple website creation ...
Get a google email account (you don't need to use it)
Then go to pages.google.com
It's not difficult to create a single page website (and quite easy to add more pages)
but best of all it's Free
Dreadful advice. Google Pages looks and feels cheap - and I wouldn't give any money to a business who used them. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
But fine if all you want is a simple presence on the 'interweb' (as Terry would call it!)PolishBigSpender wrote: »Dreadful advice. Google Pages looks and feels cheap - and I wouldn't give any money to a business who used them.0 -

To be honest, you can do yourself more harm than good with such a site. I know that if a company has a website, I'll look at the site before contacting them. No website isn't a big deal, but to have something horrific (with the address something like http://pages.google.com/mypersonalsite ) - it just screams "cheap".From Poland...with love.

Not what the OP wants... and it is not good, looks utterly unprofessional having a sub-domain of an ISP or search engine as your business website.. inspires absolutely no confidence.0
