+1 for the lemon juice, it's true that cats don't like citrus at all.

Please don't harm the cat or shoot water at it, my cat is getting old now and doesn't go far but it really upsets me to think she could be treated like this.

My cat scratched all the felt off next door's shed roof. There was nothing I could do to stop him. I did feel a tiny bit of guilt when I saw him replacing it, but in my defence there are lots of cats and it might not have just been mine :o

    Sense of humour failure :wall:

I don't find the thought of people harming animals at all funny
Got to wonder about some people. Toys out of pram.

yes i quite agree & if that's you trying to be funny then never go into comedy cause you wouldn't earn 25p
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Oh so serious and humourless :rotfl:

Rest assured, comedy is not my chosen profession. I assume the view from your high horse is quite pleasant?

OP I wouldn't worry about it. It's scratches on a piece of wood that can be replaced cheaply. There are far more important things in life.

I would just bring it to the Landlord's attention so you do not have to worry about paying for the damage. If they are friendly with this neighbour, then I'd just leave it up to them. I assume the cat has been scratching this area prior to your moving in so the landlord may already know and not be bothered about it.

If the fence posts are above the fence, try fitting a piece of string a few inches above the top of fence to stop the cat walking there.
