I had a really productive weekend which included a 'chat' with my (disabled) son. His support staff said the staff at the swimming pool wanted a word with me......based on history in other places I was concerned that he had behaved in a way that meant they were banning him. But no........they said how well he was doing and that on Saturday he had swum a few strokes independently!!!!! SO PROUD! Until now the combination of keeping his face out of the water, breathing, kicking his legs and using his arms has been too complicated for him. BUT he has been trying really hard and he did it....a few strokes and his head dropped under the water, but we are on the way.
He is 22 and to see him learning new skills at this age was so unexpected.

Great idea to have a positive thread by the way.

    Debt-free and Proud!
I work with my Hubby. We didn't get a raise in April (again, surprise, surprise!) however we did get a bonus which has meant we could afford to buy a new dining table and chairs (with his bonus) and 2 new sofas (with mine) instead of having to save up for them for the next year or so.

The surprise on the sales assistant's face when, after sprouting off all the different buy now-pay later payment options, Hubby said, "Can I just pay in full with my debit card, please?" was fantastic.

Managed to pay off one debt today and am paying off half my overdraft tomorrow

So it's nice to be getting closer to being debt free

Now have enough in the savings account to pay for the wedding, AND for moving house (rented, but still!) Four months until the wedding :-) it's a pretty cool place to be in. That and despite having a weekend away, my M.E. is manageable today, for the first time after an event in years.
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A
  • And today's good news is that my boss has assured me that I have passed my probationary period, and that I'd done that within a fortnight of starting there - her words were 'you're leaving this job over my dead body. Well, unless you decide to leave. And then that's over my dead body, too'.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Today's good news: had my diabetic check up and I'm still not on medication. I've also lost more weight.

Yesterday I had a day out at the seaside with a friend who I hadn't seen in a long long time. I was a bit nervous about spending the whole day with her as even though we talk on the phone every few weeks sometimes I think we dont have that much in common any more, but had a lovely day no awkward moments.

On the way home had to pull the car over as she couldn't drive for laughing, the pair of us were sitting there tears streaming, not being able to breath, one of those proper laugh until your ribs hurt, think you have yourself under control then start all over again, kind of laughs, we must have looked a right pair of muppets!

Got a lovely text off her this morning saying she was trying to remember the last time she had laughed like that and it was the last time we met up.

Gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling all day :D
