3 contract coming to end

I took a 24 month contract out with 3,for my son who is at university 250 miles away.The contract is about to end,i pay £36 a month and is on the one plan.My question is.If i dont do anything and let the contract run out,will i just pay the going rate for the one plan or do i still pay £36.?I have never had a mobile contract so not sure how they work.

The contract will continue rolling over at £36pm until you either cancel/upgrade or downgrade.

Your options are.

1. Let the contract roll over at £36pm (Stupid idea)
2. Cancel the contract
3. Upgrade to a new phone on a 24 month contract.
4. Downgrade to a SIM Only package such as the £23pm One Plan on a one month rolling contract or £20pm for a 12 month contract.

It'll be the same number, account billing date etc...

Three have changed their price plans a bit. They have one which now gives you unlimited minutes and texts (instead of 2000 mins and 5000 texts) and 0800 numbers for free. Only thing about the new 24 month contract is tethering is limited to 2GB so you'll have to ask your son if he's ok with that.

If not just downgrade to the SIM Only One Plan which still has the unlimited tethering option.

He needs the tethering,as he uses his laptop on the go for the course he is doing.Dont think 2gb will be enough has he does alot of filming and has to upload them.If i change him to the sim only plan will he still keep his same number etc?Thanks

Yup, like I said. Same number and account etc...

I have spoken to 3 and the contract runs out 28 may and the account will be downgraded when it ends onto the 0ne plan sim only

The contract never 'runs out'. It continues until you give 30 days notice.
