Not true, we have customers that have been using compats in Epson machines for years with no problems, the biggest reason for printers gumming up is lack of use, ie being switched off for weeks on end, all inkjet machines need to keep the printheads primed and clean to work, if the machine is left for periods of time, switched off the ink in the printhead will thcken up and eventually dry causing blocked printheads, best to leave the machine switched on as iot will go into standby mode and periodically wake up and clean the printheads.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
I got some with damaged packaging from discountcityrus for a good price.
That is a good tip about trying several times with the compatibles though.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Recently bought an Epson XP212 and works fine on compatible inks. I have already been advised that there is an update for it but declined - I have automatic updates turned OFF. It is these updates that lock out the printer. Fingers crossed!0

It's a mine field.
I bought some Epson compatible ink cartridges from CompUSA (like PCWorld) in the USA for a friend in London, and the printer hated it.
Another guy, keeps buying ridiculously cheap compatible cartridges off the internet, 10 in one box, and has no problems whatsoever. I think he used Amazon.0 -
SX130 Epson Full set of Compat about £3 from Amazon and never had a problem.0

Yes it is true - why else would I have said it? Your explanation of underuse may have some bearing, but the fact is that I ended up binning my printer after using compatible inks.0 -
I have an sx200 and get 12 catridges on ebay for £4.99, seem to work ok.
