Wooo! Just been out with Honey and the kids on the beach and do you know what?! - It felt cold! Cold isn't something I have felt for a while! Even yesterday and the day before when we had wind and rain it still felt mild but today it feels really Autumnal! I bet in the next few weeks the leaves on the trees will have turned orange, red, brown and yellow and be falling! Mind you, I do love the Autumn!
Nothing much planned for today. My parents are over at their holiday home on the Isle of Arran for a week! I imagine they will enjoy the rest as they have been babysitting non stop since the schools broke up for Summer. I am just going school stationary shopping with the kids after lunch as they seem happy playing indoors at the mo (plus it looks like rain out there!).:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Its like that in Yorkshire at the moment Bella, DD even put the heating on at one point. Their yard is full of leaves although I think thats just the wind as the treas outside are still very green. Hope you parents enjoy their rest away. We love having our GK's, we have 7 of them, but it is tiring. We seem to have them one after the other during the Summer hols.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0

Hi Sylvia,
Yes my parents are tired. They are 64 and 65 and my mum suffers from bad arthritis. I don't work so I am able to look after my four children but may 3 siblings and their partners work so my parents are 'expected' to care for their children during the hols. The kids are aged 11, 10, 10, 9, 9, 5, 4 and 18 months so they are all quite young and hard work for my parents! I have been helping out too but mine are all 10, 9, 8 and 7! Luckily they all get along so will play together but it does get hectic at meal times when they all have different tastes!
We are into week 4 of the hols so only another two weeks after this one to go! I just find I spend so much more on food and trips out and I am washing and ironing more and the housework seems to have doubled! By September I will be worn out!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Hi Bella, That must be really hard work, yours alone must keep you really busy. Thankfully I only have 1 or 2 at a time as DH is 72 now and gets tired quickly. Glad you are able to help them sometimes as it must be a struggle for them. It is also more expensive to keep them during the hols with more food and trips out.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0

I can totally relate to that Bella, lots of extra shopping to get, extra washing and cleaning! It's worse when son brings all his friends in too and we end up feeding them as well! Still....at least I know where they are when they're in the house!
That will be nice for your DS to get out SylviaEnjoy your lunch at Wetherspoons xx
Hope the weather stays off for you Sheils and you get to that country park. Safe journey home

Yes, well done on your win Wingo!
Very sad news about Robin Williams. I have loved all of his work and my kids often watch Mrs Doubtfire on dvd. Such a shame - he always appeared so cheerful on the outside but I can relate to him as I often put on a smile and a cheerful act just to cover up how I really feel and to avoid confrontation. Depression is hard to beat!
Anyway, on a cheerful note, it is still sunny here so we are off school stationary shopping shortly - I much prefer that to school clothes shopping!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I loved him in Jumanji too, one of my fave films. I think I will dig it out to watch with kids again later.
Bella, it's so easy to put on a painted smile but I know how hard it is when you're feeling at your lowest too. I've been there before and wouldn't want to go back. ((Hugs)) if you ever need a friendly chat I'm here and I'm sure a few others in here would be too xx
Postie walked past our house today, what a cheek!Hope we've had some wins in here
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0
