Closing a joint Halifax reward account

Can you just send a letter off to do this?
Does it need to be signed by both people?
Can it only be done in branch?
For solo accounts i've always just sent a letter off but didn't know if a joint one would be different.

The T+Cs are here http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/pdf/reward-current-account-guide.pdf?srnum=4
Page 28 is where you can find the conditions relating to joint accounts. I can't see anything that says you have to close an account in branch.0 -
I can't see anything that says you have to close an account in branch. If you decide you no longer want the joint account or want to take one person off the account, you can request this in branch.0

I remember the Vantage account with TSB. Nothing said you HAD to do the 2nd account over the phone or in branch, but it turned out you had to.
Anyway, IF it HAS to be done in branch then from reading the T&Cs it doesn't say whether both people or just 1 would have to go in branch.
Thing is, it's going to be very very difficult, almost impossible without timing work holidays right for both people to go in at the same time.
So could just 1 go in? But in this case, can they only remove themselves i take it?0 -

"either of you can...close the account without the other person's permission".0 -

Useful for adulterers and widow(er)s.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

good advice above.
my only other thought is that, unless you are breaking up, don't do it. a HR account can be easily harvested for £5/month:)0 -
If it suits your situation you could switch to a new account using the faster switching service which can be done online and the faster switching service will automatically close the old account.
We just switched our joint Halifax reward to a joint Santander 123 and didn't have to visit either branch once• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Last year someone posted a link to a form which could be used for closing Halifax accounts, I used that.
I've another Halifax account to close so I'd appreciate it if anyone can remember the post or has a copy of the form.Every Penny's a Prisoner.
