Fastest broadband providers in my area?

HI, a few months to go but I'd like to see if there's anything out there, or if anyone knows of new offers on the horizon.

I'm with TalkTalk for phone and broadband at the moent and very happy. My 18 months (from the point of registration) expires in December, and from the start of internet service ends in February.

I'm on the 8MB plan, and getting speeds in excess but was wondering if there are any other faster providers? Really not sure about the hole cable issue but I've heard you can get 20Mb or even 24MB.

I've spent time in the Netherlands where 24MB appears to be the standard not the exception, and even basic packages are offering 14MB mininum, and yes I do know the distance from the exchange matters in relation to the speed.

Another question is how can I get faster upload speeds? 256kbps is just poultry and maintaining a website as I do is just not enough. I often upload more than I download so something faster would be fantastic, 1MB or more if possible.

My postcode begins AB124.

Q3 2011 for enabling BT 21CN.

Only ADSL is available and only TalkTalk LLU is enabled. Guess I'm stuck where I am then.

Anyone offering faster uploads? Or is 256kbps it?

adsl max comes with around 448kbs upload - this would be most of the up to 8Mb products, though the more expensie office connection is over 800kbs
