Decent vacuum cleaner

Remember to check the weight of them. Our recent VAX upright purchase is heavy beast and bordering on painful to use,0

Our dyson has lasted years and still going strong. Tempted with one of their smaller ball all surface ones now. £100 off if you trade in any other vacuum cleaner. So that makes it £199 I believe.0

Same as wallbash Henry for hard floors and a Sebo for carpets. The Henry takes a lot of work on carpets.0

Not if you get one of the Turbo head attachments. Then the Henries are as fast as any. It's not comparing like for like because many other vacuums come with similar heads, especially the uprights.
I have 4 vacuums and I use the Henry most of all because it just so functional. I can understand by professional cleaners use them. However the hoses do annoy me because they are always falling apart and metal sections falling off.0 -
Henry/Hetty every time for me.;)0

Clean or replace the filters and check for blocked pipes.PrettyFlower90 wrote: »Hi,
We're looking for any suggestions on a decent but affordable hoover? I just had one from tescos, their own brand but it seems to have lost its touch now. Partner has been looking at some Vax and Miele ones but but they're like £119 and really can't be doing with that lol
Any suggestions please?0 -
I'm happy with my Henry apart from the smell that develops between bag changes. I bought some bicarbonate of soda which apparently helps.
I used a Dyson ball recently. Just getting it to stand up was a confusing challenge and using the pipe and arm was like an episode of the krypton factor. It belonged to a friends daugter who had been living with her for a while. The daughters partner bought the Dyson after spotting it at a very reduced price. When the daughter moved out she left the Dyson, but took her Hetty!.0 -
My Miele is great - you have to consider not just the cost but how long it's going to last. Mine is 6 years and going strong.
Probably doesn't get used as much as is should though!0 -

Don't know if you've washed the filter but this helps too.;)0 -
We've got a Sebo and a Henry. The Sebo was/is expensive but worth it. We've had it for 12 years and it's as good as new and has never had a problem. It has a bag which is really simple and clean to change. We had a Dyson once but hated it!
The Henry is for the car and other mucky jobs with big bits to pick up. Another fantastic reliable machine!0
