People Per Hour is also good if you have decent office based skills. I'm an internet marketer, and if I work non-stop, can easily eclipse my wage from the internet.

I am also an internet marketer and I am sure I could be earning via People Per Hour, but every time I log on I get baffled by the sheer amount/variety of jobs offered. I don't suppose you have any tips on getting started and winning proposals?

Thank you for all the replies

I have applied with Leap force. I looked at Sensee but you need a PC and I just have a laptop. I have also applied for freelance audio typing working with an agency.

I have signed up to bubblews and have upped the ante on all the survey and click sites. I have also bought some stock for Ebay and I am just waiting on it arriving.

My hubby earns £12,000 a year. I will earn £7,000 this year (my leave will end in October and I will not return) This £7,000 includes statutory pay for the next 3 months, then no pay for 3 months, then all my outstanding holiday pay.

We currently get £20.80 Child Benefit and £31.53 Child Tax Credit.

    Downsizing is not an option.

Could your husband get a better paying job, his earnings are very low - or is he part time?

    Hi Mennie, try these sites:

    textbroker.com

On this site you can earn money by writing articles and website content for businesses. No overheads for getting started, all you need to do is submit a trial piece of content so they can assess your quality. Then you can write as much as you want and earn money per word.

I take it you mean https://www.textbroker.co.uk

Textbroker.com I think is only for US residents.

Thanks for this suggestion. It looks right up my alley, but I submitted the writing sample they asked for to the UK site and got back the following cryptic message:

Thank you for your writing sample. Owing to the high number of applications, we are no longer reviewing newly incoming submissions. You will receive an e-mail from system@textbroker.co.uk once your application has been reviewed. We'd like to thank you for your ongoing patience and interest in Textbroker.

I wasn't sure whether to take this as they have enough authors at the moment, or will review the writing sample eventually. I haven't put any time into setting up my author profile; I thought I would wait and see if there was any progress first.

Has anyone done any writing for/had any experience of this group?

It sounds like they have enough authors at the moment so will email you when they need more.

Have you tried iWriter also? https://www.iwriter.com

    Hi everyone,
Great thread, with lots of interesting ideas, thanks everyone.

I've recently come accross crowdflower elite, which appears to be different to the original crowdflower. The original tasks could only be accepted via 3rd party sites like swagbucks, however they now have their own platform for you to access micro tasks. This will make it much easier to work quickly though tasks and earn more money. However I think it might be invite only, I got mine after a questionnaire on Swagbucks.

So it looks like a real way to earn money, but having only just registered myself, I'm unsure how to earn the 1st level badge which gives you access to many other task. There don't seem to be any tasks that don't require a badge to start them, hence I can't earn my first badge. Do any of you know how I can do this? It seems some of you are working for crowdflower, so may have the answer.

    Again, great thread and thanks

    Hi dbawldy,
I'm also looking into betterware and avon which I believe are similar to kleeneze. Could you tell me how much time and effort would be needed to earn £500 a month. I'm in a similar position to the original poster being on maternity leave and not wanting to return to inflexible employment.

Also, what would the target market be for kleeneze, i.e who buys the most products? Elderly, young families, lower income families, higher income families etc. I want to make sure my local area would support this type of work.

    Thanks for your help

It's definitely possible to earn that amount of money per month but you have to hunt out the jobs and be consistent. This month I will take home about £1800 working from home doing a variety of work but mainly working as a moderator on forums and so on.

I am working my butt off in the mean time to get my internet marketing sites to be earning this as well but as previously stated you have to study and work hard.

The suggestions in this thread have been amazing and I hope they continue to come as im sure lots will learn from it. Will post again if I find any more useful details to post!

    Good luck!

I am a stay at home mum and by not working we are down by 1k a month... It is hard but for me, totally worth it. I don't want to pay someone else to bring up my baby and family isn't an option as everyone works.

However, I do massively miss my own income so I'm on the look out for some extra pennies, even if I could get a couple of hundred a month. Thank you for everyone who suggested places to look, I am off to look in to them now.

Starting a blog to try and earn money is totally the wrong way to go about it. It can be really difficult to get any paid work, especially now Google have clamped down and not many paid ops are being offered anymore. Really, the only way to earn money now is through advertising on your blog but unless your big and have, say, over a thousand followers, you don't have much of a chance. I have been blogging for just over a year, it look at least 6 months to get any interest from PR companies. I have had paid work, earned around 400 one month but last time I was paid for anything was around Christmas/NY time. I still blog because I enjoy it but no longer look in to paid work as its too stressful. PR companies demand far too much now and I could spend all afternoon emailing every single one of my contacts and I probably won't hear from most of them.

People Per Hour is a good way to earn money but its hard to find something suitable. Worth keeping an eye out on though.

Wish the OP all the best and please keep us updated as I'd love to know how it goes xx
