Is it possible to make £500 a month

I am just ending my maternity leave and not looking to return to work just yet

I am entitled to £225 Per month in tax credits and child benefit.

Between my husband and I, we will be £475 per month short of the amount required to run our house. We run a very tight ship and there is no wiggle room. Our cloth is cut as short as can be.

I do mystery shopping, sell on ebay and do surveys etc.

Do you think it is possible to meet this £475 monthly shortfall online?

I have approx. 20 hours per week that I can dedicate to this (when child is sleeping)

What are the best ways to make money online now?

I use Archer Fish, You Gov, onepoll, topcashback, pure profile, Grass Roots Mystery Shopping and sell on Amazon, Ebay and local facebook sites

In my opinion, no, I'd say £200 a month max

I think a part time job would earn £500 a month in much less time

I've been earning over £500 most months for the past 7 years so yes it is possible, but remember you would lose tax credits if you are earning.

Web search evaluation, txt answering services etc. Lots of options. Have a search on the boards for "work from home"

Yes, you would have your tax credits adjusted to take into account your self employed annual earnings.

Thanks, I will spend the next few days searching

I would of course declare all earnings and have been doing so for the last few years, albeit paltry amounts.

I am unsure how the govt can expect a family of 3 to live on so little per year, but that is another story for another day

I know I can make more in a pt job, but my dh works until 8pm 6 days a week. It would be hard to fit in a job around that.

I could of course go back to work full time and use childcare, but I am trying to avoid that at all costs.

I have just ordered some new stock on ebay and will really ramp up the selling along with a few car boots etc.

I am really goal orientated and will spend the next few months I have on leave trying to attain at least £500.

If this is not feasible I will have to rethink my options ...........

I don't think that amount is possible. On my best months I've made only around £400. The trouble is all the things you are suggesting are unreliable. You'd be better with a part-time job with guaranteed hours. You cannot guarantee the money you will make with mystery shopping, online surveys etc. Your time would be better rewarded in a 'real' job. Unless you can find a job where you can work from home?

Loads of people are earning hundreds a month, just by hard effort and being inventive.

In all honestly you are never going to earn the money you want doing swagbucks and the like

I work from home and have young children - if a search engine evaluator position would fit in with your family life then you should consider it. Work level does vary but you should be able to earn £500 per month. It's been a godsend for me as I also did not want to return to work and have to use childcare.

From my experiences, surveys etc all pay below the minimum wage, you can make money from home, but it is almost like slave labour, I part time job even in Mcdonalds would earn you double in the same time

I fully get what you are saying if that is your experience but the opportunity is there to earn £100's a month if you are just willing to work for it.

Sometimes It means being inventive in how you go about earning that money (Earning via your Blog or YouTube channel or whatever)

Sometimes It can have a lot to do with getting introduced to a particular 'method' of earning money that offers a rate of pay which you didn't even think was available when working from home.

A Lot of people get into this, see you earn 50p from a survey and think that earning decent money is impossible. It isn't, you just have to be willing to put the research / time and effort in that's all
